Chad Gable is reportedly nearing a return to WWE television after being sidelined for six months.
According to PWInsider, internal pitches have Gable reappearing on the January 26 episode of Monday Night Raw at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
While there was initial speculation that he would return for the Netflix anniversary special in Brooklyn on January 5, Gable did not appear at that event. The multi-time Tag Team Champion was written off television on June 23 after a segment where Penta snapped his arm during a Raw broadcast. Shortly after, Gable underwent shoulder surgery to repair the damage.
Before his injury, Gable was a central fixture of the red brand, famously pulling double duty by portraying both himself and the masked character El Grande Americano. Gable effectively confirmed his role under the mask while attending a Minnesota Twins game in July 2025.
Current creative expectations suggest that Gable will return as his true self rather than reclaiming the mask. Instead, Ludwig Kaiser is expected to continue portraying El Grande Americano, a gimmick that has surged in popularity since Kaiser took over the role.
The character has since evolved into a full stable of “Americanos,” including Rayo Americano (Pete Dunne) and Bravo Americano (Tyler Bate). Gable returns to a Raw landscape dominated by The Vision, a faction managed by Paul Heyman that includes Bron Breakker, Logan Paul, Bronson Reed, and Austin Theory.
Gable’s history with members of this group, particularly his past rivalry with Breakker over the Intercontinental Championship, provides an immediate path back into the title picture. His return also comes just days before the Royal Rumble on January 31 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Gable could be a surprise entrant in the 30-man match.
This is the perfect time for Gable to make his return, as he could be launched into a bigger role coming out of the Rumble match ahead of WrestleMania season.
