San Antonio Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama has taken the league by storm in his rookie season and the French phenom has some big goals to take NBA All-Star weekend by storm in future years.

To the surprise of no one, Victor Wembanyama has shown over his first 49 games in the league why he was the most hyped prospect in basketball since Lebron James. The 20-year-old entered the All-Star break as the Spurs leader in points (20.5), rebounds (10.0), steals (1.1), blocks (3.2), is third in three-pointers made and fourth in assists per game.

  • Victor Wembanyama stats (2023-24): 20.5 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 4.1 APG, 1.1 SPG, 3.2 BPG

It is all the more impressive because he is posting these varied stats at a height of 7-foot-4. At this point there is little doubt that barring serious injuries, Wembanyama is sure to be competing in many future All-Star Games instead of the Future’s Game he took part in on Friday. However, the Frenchman has some big goals for All-Star weekends in the future beyond the big game itself.

Victor Wembanyama plans to compete in future NBA Dunk Contest and Three-Point Shootouts

On Friday night after his appearance in the Future’s Game, Victor Wembanyama revealed his NBA career “bucket list” and it includes competing in both the NBA Dunk Contest and the NBA Three-Point Shootout.

So far, only 14 players in NBA history have competed in both of the events. However, Victor Wembanyama will definitely be the tallest to ever take part in both. There has never been a player to win the pair of popular All-Star weekend events and only two have done it in the same year — Damian Lillard and Kenny Smith.

Donovan Mitchell will attempt to do so this year when he competes in the 2023 Three-Point Shootout. He won the Dunk Contest in 2018.
