Police called to Miami Dolphins star’ Tyreek Hill’s house for ‘domestic dispute’ in January

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill reportedly had police visit his home earlier this year due to a “domestic dispute”, the latest incident to occur at his home requiring a response from first responders.

Hill, age 30, was forced to leave Dolphins’ practice on Jan. 3 to attend to a fire at his Miami residence. The home experienced massive destroyed a section of his mansion, resulting in more than $2 million in damages.

However, it reportedly wasn’t the only time in January that Hill’s residence required first responders. According to The Miami Herald law enforcement was called to Hill’s home on January 30 due to allegations of a domestic disturbance.

The cousin of Keeta Vaccaro, Hill’s wife, called 911 after she heard Hill screaming at his wife. Upon arriving at the scene, police found Hill and Vacarro arguing over a post-nuptial agreement following a divorce filing by the Dolphins’ receiver earlier that month.

Speaking to police, Vacarro explained that she had refused to sign the pre-nuptial agreement. She also told officers that she felt “bullied, threatened and verbally abused” by Hill. While Hill acknowledged that he and Vacarro were fighting, he told police that it happened because his representatives urged him to get Vaccaro to sign a post-nuptial agreement after their divorce filing was dismissed that same day.

While Vacarro told police that Hill “smashed” an unlit cigar in her face, the All-Pro wide receiver stated that he simply “flicked” the cigar and denied allegations of smashing it into his wife’s face. Following the investigation, police didn’t make an arrest because of “conflicting stories and no evidence that a crime” happened.

History of Tyreek Hill’s off-field issues

While Hill wasn’t charged for the incident, he has a long history of off-field issues. As a wide receiver for the Oklahoma State Cowboys, Hill’s former girlfriend Crystal Espinal accused him of domestic violence, telling police in 2014 that he threw her around “like a ragdoll” and punched her in the face, choked her and repeatedly hither in the stuff. After being dismissed by Oklahoma State, Hill pled guilty to domestic assault and battery by strangulation.

In 2019, Hill was investigated by police for battery involving his 3-year-old sun, who suffered a broken arm. Hill and Espinal, his then-fiancee, briefly lost custody of their son, but the district attorney ultimately declined to bring charges of child abuse as they couldn’t prove who did what to the child.

In June 2023, the Miami-Dade Police Department announced that Hill was involved in an altercation at a marina in Miami Beach, Florida. However, an investigation into the alleged assault and battery resulted in the Miami-Dade Police Department not pursuing chargers. Hill later reached an undisclosed settlement with the accused victim, which avoided criminal charges being pursued by the state attorney’s office.

The January 2024 disturbance that resulted in officers going to Hill’s home was only unveiled as part of a featured story in The Miami Herald, in which Hill said he is cleaning up his life.
