The Kansas City Chiefs already added Marquise “Hollywood” Brown to their receiving corps this offseason, providing quarterback Patrick Mahomes with another weapon. However, in light of the Rashee Rice news, Kansas City is now after another pass-catcher.
Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd hit the open market this offseason with limited interest out of the gate. The veteran pass-catcher then popped up on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ radar following the Diontae Johnson trade, but a deal never materialized.

According to Mark Kaboly of The Athletic, Boyd leaving the Bengals for their division rival is now viewed as a “long shot” by both sides. However, the sure-handed receiver is on the radar of multiple Super Bowl contenders including Kansas City.
Kaboly reports that the Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, and Los Angeles Chargers all have expressed “preliminary interest” in Boyd this offseason.

Boyd isn’t the only receiver on the Dolphins’ radar. Miami held an official visit with Odell Beckham Jr. and made him a contract offer in late March. However, the former All-Pro talent left without agreeing to terms on a deal and is believed to still be looking for other opportunities.
Boyd, who turns 30 in November, would operate as a secondary passing option with any of the Super Bowl contenders who’ve expressed interest this offseason. However, after the team traded away Keenan Allen and cut Mike Williams, he could be one of the go-to options in the Chargers’ offense if he went to Los Angeles.
Considering the strength of the 2024 NFL Draft wide receiver class, both in terms of depth and impact talent, Boyd might remain a free agent until May. However, once the draft is concluded, he should have a few suitors to choose from.
