Tom Savage placed on IR with concussion

Houston Texans quarterback Tom Savage

More bad news strikes when it comes to the Houston Texans and their quarterbacks. The team has placed Tom Savage on IR due to the concussion he suffered in Week 14 following the nasty hit that appeared to cause him to have a seizure on the field.

Savage started in seven games for the Texans. He opened the season as the starter, then took over for rookie Deshaun Watson once he became injured prior to Week 9.

With Savage now out for the remaining two games, T.J. Yates will continue to fill the role. Paper thin at the quarterback position, the Texans promoted Taylor Heinicke from the practice squad last week.

In an all-around sad season for the Texans, they will look to finish on a high note by snapping their four-game losing streak. Deshaun Watson surely hopes the team will do enough to keep Bill O’Brien coaching into 2018.
