Deshaun Watson doubles down on support of Bill O’Brien

Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien’s future with the team is up in the air as the team has struggled to win just four games and resides in third place in the AFC South.

But, rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson has not been shy about defending his head coach. Watson previously tweeted out his support of O’Brien after the embattled head coach said that he wanted to remain with the Texans.

Then on Tuesday, he doubled down, saying he would love to play for O’Brien for his entire career.

“We have a great relationship,” Watson said, per Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle.” “Coach OB is to fun to play. He’s very tough on you. He wants you to be successful. I would love to have coach OB back and I’m ready to have him with me for my whole career.”

Right now, O’Brien is in contract with the Texans through 2018. But, two more losses and a possible last place finish in the division might tell a different story for O’Brien come Black Monday.

What looked to be a promising season for the Texans with Watson under center abruptly got cut short. Watson suffered a season-ending ACL tear prior to Week 9. Since, the Texans have won only a single game, which took place in Week 11.

Entering this week’s game, following four straught losses, O’Brien could be coaching for his job. And, things won’t come easy when the Texans host the heavily favored Pittsburgh Steelers.

It is awesome that Watson is so supportive of O’Brien. We will see soon enough if the Texans’ brass feel the same way once 2017 is in the books.
