Tom Brady calls Rob Gronkowski GOAT tight end

There’s no debate about the best QB to ever play. That goes to Tampa Bay Buccaneers star Tom Brady after he earned a seventh Super Bowl title a season ago.

However, there’s a lesser-known debate going on around the NFL world. That includes who the best tight end to ever suit up is.

Tom Terrific is getting involved in said conversation, indicating that teammate Rob Gronkowski is the greatestt to ever do it.

“It’s been amazing to watch him perform. “He’s obviously the greatest tight end to ever play the game and still doing it,” Tom Brady told reporters on Thursday. “I think his ability to block in the run game, run routes in the pass game, win against smaller players, and then he’s very clutch. He comes up big in the biggest moments.”

It’s certainly an open question and should be debated. When healthy, Gronkowski is among the most dominant tight ends in NFL history. Whether he’s the best to ever suit up remains to be seen.

A second-round pick of the New England Patriots back in 2020, Gronkowski has made a living catching Tom Brady passes throughout his career.

Here’s a dude who has hauled in 599 receptions for 8,920 yards and 92 touchdowns in 11 seasons. However, he’s also missed substantial time to injury. That includes 35 games throughout his career. So, where does Gronk stack up against the rest?

  • Games played: 19th
  • Receptions: 10th
  • Yards: 5th
  • Touchdowns: 3rd

It’s hard to be the best at something when you’re not No. 1 in any major statistical category. In fact, Rob Gronkowski has put up 726 fewer receptions than all-time leader Tony Gonzalez. That’s a huge disparity.

Either way, Tom Brady is going to bat for his teammate. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
