Legendary seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is officially part of the FOX NFL broadcast crew. Brady joined fellow former great Michael Strahan on Monday in announcing that he’ll be in the booth to call the Dallas Cowboys’ Week 1 game against the Cleveland Browns.
This is part of a broader NFL schedule release that will come to a culmination with a program on NFL Network Wednesday evening starting at 8 PM ET.
Brady, 46, inked a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox after retiring following the 2022 season. However, the game’s best ever quarterback opted to take a “gap year” in between his retirement and joining the broadcast booth.
The fact that Brady is calling America’s Team to open his broadcast career is telling. It’s the first time that Fox has called a Cowboys opener in five years.

“Amazing. Obviously, having the Cowboys on is a huge draw. As ‘America’s Team,’ that’s going to get a little hard for me to say all the time,” Brady said in the announcement. “But in this new role, I know the Cowboys and how they are important to this network. They got great storylines. Come on. Dak Prescott. Let’s see if he can finally come through.”
The game will be played in Cleveland. Outside of the Dallas’ focus, a lot of the talk will be on injury-plagued Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. It should be a fun game.
