Tom Brady on report he’s re-considering Fox Sports gig: ‘Fake news’

It was last year that seven-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer Tom Brady inked a 10-year, $375 million contract with Fox Sports to be part of its NFL coverage moving forward.

Brady, 45, would end up joining Fox Sports after he retired from football. At least, that was the plan. Following his retirement earlier this year, it was noted that Brady was going to take a season off before he started his media career.

Now comes this report from Andrew Marchand of the New York Post indicating that Brady might be getting cold feet and that there’s a 51% chance the all-time great opts out of his deal with Fox Sports.

About that? Tom Brady took to Instagram on Friday to refute this report. TMZ Sports was the first to catch a comment from Brady calling the report “fake news.” Sportsnaut has since confirmed it.

No one in their right mind would turn down $375 million guaranteed over 10 years, right? That’s just on the surface.

There is a lot that goes into this. Brady is said to have a net worth of $250 million. The greatest quarterback of all-time is also involved in several business doings off the field that would enhance his net worth. That includes recently purchasing a stake in the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces.

Meanwhile, Brady made it clear following his retirement that he wants to spend more time with his children after finalizing a divorce with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen.

“There is nothing I love more than football, but I have young children and they watched enough of their dad’s games and it’s time for me to watch their games,” Tom Brady back in March.

Either way, we should take Brady’s word for it. He refutes the report. Until something concreate comes out, it’s his word against a report.
