As the 2023 NFL Draft draws close, new rumors continue to suggest the Tennessee Titans could make a big splash in the annual event so they can land the franchise quarterback they have been searching for.
The Tennessee Titans have been looking for a franchise QB since Steve McNair brought his memorable run with the team to an end nearly two decades ago. Since then, the organization has used valuable draft picks on signal callers in the hopes that they can find the man that can take them to the promised land and bring them their first Super Bowl title.

Unfortunately, players like Vince Young, Marcus Mariotta, and — most recently — Malik Willis have not turned into the long-term answer they were hoping for at the position. After a disappointing season in 2022, the Titans have a high-end pick in April’s draft, however, their selection at 11 is out of range to land one of the highly-coveted QB prospects in this year’s class.
Well, it seems the Tennessee Titans are an organization that many around the league believe could attempt to make a blockbuster trade to move way up in the 2023 NFL Draft. On a recent edition of the “Move the Sticks” podcast, NFL Media league insider Daniel Jeremiah had some interesting intel on Tennessee that he is hearing around the league.
“Can I give you the team that I have been told to keep an eye on that’s exploring this and looking into this? Again, this is just people around the league who said do not sleep on Numero 11. The Tennessee Titans. The two teams to keep an eye on with the trade-ups were the Raiders and the Titans.”

However, Jeremiah is not the only person in the know that believes the Titans could be lying in wait to pounce on a top signal-caller this month. Last week, Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer claimed Tennessee is a “sneaky” team in this year’s event.
“There’s a sneaky team involved in the draft-quarterback derby. And that team is the Titans. GM Ran Carthon was on hand for the three big quarterback pro days last week in Columbus, Tuscaloosa, and Lexington, and Mike Vrabel was there for two of the three (he was at the University of Cincinnati’s pro day in between Ohio State and Kentucky, rather than going to Alabama).”

The Tennessee Titans have made headlines this offseason by subtracting players from that roster than adding. However, a strong desire to improve their QB spot has always been rumored, and with the top free agents off the board, addressing the need in the NFL Draft makes a lot of sense this month.
