Update: Russell Wilson left game early in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Geno Smith. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll announced after the 26-17 loss that Wilson suffered a “badly sprained finger.” There’s no further word on how long the star quarterback will be out. Carroll did not that there’s no timeline for Wilson to return to the field.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is tough as nails. The Super Bowl quarterback has started all 149 games since Seattle made him a third-round pick back in 2012.

He’s almost literally a machine out there.

Unfortunately, Wilson suffered what has to be described as an ugly-looking finger injury to the throwing hand during Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams in Seattle.

If you’re still eating dinner or enjoying a late-night snack, turn away. It’s not pretty.

Here’s another angle with Russell Wilson deciding to pop the middle finger back into place. Shockingly, he still stayed on the field for the next play before Seattle was forced to punt.

Ultimately, Wilson had to leave the game because he couldn’t “hold on to the football,” per the aforementioned Carroll.

As for Russell Wilson and his Seahawks, they entered Thursday’s game with a mere 2-2 record. Following the nine-point loss, Seattle fell to 2-3 on the season.
