Russell Westbrook and his Los Angeles Lakers are making their only appearance inside the famed Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks Tuesday evening.

Already in the midst of a frustrating season that sees them at 23-28, the Lakers have had drama surround them at nearly every turn.

That continued Tuesday evening. Westbrook could be seen exchanging words with a Knicks fan that was seated courtside. It seems as if the former NBA MVP had more to say to the fan than anything else. We’re not 100% sure what led to the altercation. But check it out.

Sleuths on social media figured out that the individual Westbrook was exchanging words with is none other than noted New York sports fan and entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk. Also seen as an Internet personality, “Gary Vee” co-founded Resy and Empathy Wines. He had something to say about the altercation in an attempt to clear things up.

Despite the Lakers’ overall struggles, Russell Westbrook has been among the few bright spots in Los Angeles. He’s averaging 15.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 7.5 assists on the season. The future Hall of Famer has taken well to the Sixth Man role afte being relegated to bench duties early in the season.

Though, Russ has also struggled a bit recently. He’s shooting just 33% from the field in five games leading up to Tuesday night’s outing inside the Mecca of the basketball world.
