Team Slovakia lost to the United States in the Olympic semifinals, but not before Habs forward Juraj Slafkovsky found the back of the net for the fourth time of the tournament. With four goals and four assists to his credit, Slafkovsky is tied for fourth in Olympic scoring, behind Connor McDavid, Macklin Celebrini, and Lucas Raymond.

Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki and Team Canada waited until the last moment to punch their ticket to the final game. Team Finland held a two-goal lead midway through the game, but they weren’t able to play prevent defence for 30 minutes without allowing Canada to generate a bevy of scoring chances.
