Washington Capitals stars Tom Wilson and Logan Thompson will get a chance at Olympic Gold. This comes as Team Canada rallied once again to beat Finland 3-2 in the semifinals on Friday.

Wilson played a crucial part in the victory, as he helped assist Shea Theodore on the game-tying goal. The 31-year-old kept the puck in the zone and sent it toward the goal. Eventually, Theodore got the puck and sent a point shot past Juuse Saros to make it 2-2.

Wilson was also very physical again by throwing his body around and showing his two-way game. The Capitals alternate captain has really made his presence known on the Olympic stage.

With the game tied at 2-2 late in regulation, Canada went on the power play with a chance to score. That’s when Nathan MacKinnon recorded the game-winner with 36 seconds left. Sam Reinhart scored the first Canadian goal.

Wilson finished the game with one assist and a plus-1 rating through 12:47 of ice time. He now has four points in five games so far in tournament, along with 29 penalty minutes.

Meanwhile, Thompson has still only appeared in one game for Canada, playing the role of backup to Jordan Binnington. In that one game vs. Switzerland, the Capitals netminder stopped 24 of 25 shots with a .960 save percentage for the win.

Canada will now await the winner of USA-Slovakia for the Gold Medal game on Sunday. If the Slovaks win, Wilson and Thompson will face their Capitals teammate Martin Fehervary.
