When Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce isn’t chasing after Taylor Swift, you can usually find him catching touchdowns from Patrick Mahomes. That was no different on Saturday during the team’s training camp session.

But, as we know, when competitive juices start flowing, especially in the summer heat, tension can quickly rise. That was on full display as the Chiefs reconvened for practice earlier this morning.

Working on red zone drills, we saw Mahomes hit Kelce for another touchdown pass, but the tight end took offense to teammate Jack Cochrane hitting him a bit late, or we think that was the dispute. Here we see Kelce throw a little jab at Cochrane, striking him in his protective helmet gear.

Chances are the two have already forgotten about the minor incident during Saturday’s practice, setting aside their differences to help achieve a common goal. But it’s hard not to see the intensity at Chiefs camp already getting dialed up.

Looking to defend their throne as Super Bowl champions, many have the Chiefs as a popular pick to return to the NFL’s biggest stage. Having Mahomes, Kelce, and a formidable defense will go a long way toward helping coach Andy Reid accomplish his goals. But they might want to leave the battles on the field, between the whistles, from now on.
