The Cleveland Browns made it clear this year that pretty much everyone on their roster was a potential trade chip. Heading into Week 5, at least one player, receiver Terrelle Pryor, has impressed the Browns enough to change that point of view.

Pryor thought he was headed to the New England Patriots last year, but they ultimately decided against signing the multi-purpose player.
“I really thought I was going to be a Patriot,” Pryor said, per NFL.com. “I know Bill Belichick really liked me. I had a great workout for them and everything went really well. I really thought he was going to sign me.”
The Patriots may have lost out on a rare gem — one Cleveland intends to hold onto as long as possible.
Pryor has made plays at multiple positions. During the team’s Week 3 loss to the Miami Dolphins, he caught eight passes for 144 yards, completed three passes for 35 yards, rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown and even played a snap at safety.
He’s the most valuable player the Browns have right now.
On the season, the dynamic player has 290 yards and a touchdown on 19 receptions and is quite clearly the No. 1 receiver on Cleveland’s roster.
Pryor is currently playing on a one-year deal worth up to $1.67 million, though not a cent is guaranteed. Chances are, his next contract will include some nice guaranteed cash and just a bit more cheddar on a yearly basis.
He might need that extra cash, too, if he plans on doing any more LeBron James-driven post-touchdown celebrations.
Based on this information by Rapoport, it appears the Moneyball-driven Browns see keeping Pryor as an investment worth making.
