Mike Macdonald, Sam Darnold, and Kenneth Walker III just led the Seattle Seahawks to a 29-13 win in Super Bowl LX. It was the second Super Bowl win in the Seahawks’ franchise history. Now, the team is expected to be put up for sale.
For now, the team is owned by Jody Allen after her brother Paul passed away back in 2018. Paul’s estate mandated that the Seahawks be sold after his death. Now, the wheels are expected to be put back in motion.
But how much are the Seahawks worth? Probably a lot more than you think.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, “it’s currently believed that the high bidder will land in the range of $9 billion to $11 million.”
If so, that would set a new mark for the most expensive sale in NFL history. The previous and current high was set by Josh Harris, who purchased the Washington Commanders for $6.05 billion in 2023.
NFL teams rarely go up for sale, and the opportunity to purchase a winning team will surely attract bidders from all over the world. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has frequently been linked to becoming an NFL team owner; he even has previous ties to Seattle. But it could be any billionaire with an interest in making a large investment, not just someone like Bezos.
