Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes were among those traumatized by Wednesday’s mass shooting during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.

A total of 22 people were left with gunshot wounds while a woman passed away. It was an horrific scene and a reminder of the ills of today’s American reality.

Two days after the tragedy, the Mahomes’ took time out of their schedule to visit two young victims of the mass shooting. That included an eight-year-old and 10-year-old girl.

Several of the gunshot victims from Wednesday’s shooting were children. In what has to be considered great news, none of the injuries are life-threatening.

But as noted in the embed above, it’s going to be a long road to recovery. That’s not just physical. But emotional, too.

These two young girls were at the parade to celebrate their favorite quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his team winning the Super Bowl. What was supposed to be a joyful moment concluded in emotional scars that will last for life.

It’s absolutely awesome to see the Mahomes’ do their thing to at least make these girls smile during such a trying time in their lives.
