Late Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Chargers made waves by releasing pass-rusher Joey Bosa after a nine-year tenure with the team. While the Chargers were able to save $25.3 million in cap space, now that the five-time Pro Bowler is available, he’s expected to draw a ton of interest in NFL free agency. Yet, unlike players whose contracts have expired like Josh Sweat, since Bosa has already been released, teams can sign him right now.

Detroit Lions
The Lions are looking to pair another pass-rusher with Aidan Hutchinson and now that Bosa is available, they have the chance to build one of the most potent edge-rushing tandems in the NFL. Plus, Bosa would be joining a top Super Bowl contender.

Washington Commanders
The Commanders are hunting for impactful upgrades and Bosa, who has four seasons with double-digit sacks, certainly qualifies. He’d immediately become their top pass-rusher and make them less predictable on draft day.

The Packers have invested several Day 1 and Day 2 picks into their front seven, but no one on the team tallied more than 7.5 sacks in 2024. The Packers have plenty of cap space and Bosa would be the type of high-profile addition this team is seeking.
