A new report has revealed what the Miami Dolphins are targeting before the Oct. 31 NFL trade deadline and it could reveal the team may be without one of their best players on offense for longer than expected.
The Dolphins have been one of the best teams in the league this season and enter the NFL games today with a 5-2 record. The team is led by a high-powered offense that has been an absolute force. While the team had a good offense last season, there has been one major difference in 2023 that has made them feared — their running game.

Raheem Mostert and rookie De’Von Achane have been a dynamic backfield combo that’s posted 934 rushing yards and 14 total touchdowns for the ‘Fins this season. However, they have been without Achane for the last three games due to a knee injury he suffered in Week 4.
The ailment led the organization to place him on injured reserve with the belief that it shouldn’t be season-ending. However, while Achane may return at some point this season, it may end up being far later in the year than some might have expected.
Miami Dolphins reportedly targeting running backs before NFL trade deadline

On Sunday morning, The Athletic’s NFL insider Dianna Russini reported that “the Miami Dolphins have poked around at running back before Tuesday’s NFL Trade deadline.”
That news is quite interesting since there hasn’t been any indication that Achane has had a setback in his injury recovery. Plus, Mostert has been rock-solid in his ninth season in the league and is only a couple of weeks removed from a 115-yard rushing performance against the Carolina Panthers.

However, there is no denying he has been better this season as part of a tandem. It may be possible that Achane could be out for much longer than originally thought and that the team may feel they can get the best out of the run game and Mostert by combining him with another proven back from outside the organization over the next few weeks.
