It was not pretty for New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson or the entire Las Vegas Raiders squad on Sunday Night Football.

Vegas defeated the Jets at home by the score of 16-12 after Wilson threw an interception into the hands of linebacker Robert Spillane with 1:22 remaining in the fourth quarter and New York driving for the potential game-winning score.

That’s just a terrible decision and an even worst throw. How can a quarterback making his 30th career regular-season start still commit rookie mistakes? It’s pretty much been a representation of Wilson’s career since New York made him the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

While New York almost won on a Hail Mary on the final play of the game, this interception doomed the team to a 4-5 record. It was an absolutely brutal loss in yet another game the Jets should have won. And in reality, people were not happy with what they saw from Zach Wilson.

As for the Las Vegas Raiders, they pulled off their second consecutive win after the firing of head coach Josh McDaniels. Interim guy Antonio Pierce has his team now fully in the AFC Playoff picture following this ugly win.

Rookie Aidan O’Connell was not great in his second consecutive start replacing the benched Jimmy Garoppolo, completing a mere 16-of-27 passes for 153 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Davante Adams did the most work, catching six passes for 86 yards. Meanwhile, rookie tight end Michael Mayer had a catch of the year candidate.

Needless to say, those watching this game had some pretty intense reactions to Pierce winning his second consecutive game as the Raiders’ interim coach. Perhaps, it could even lead to a full-time gig depending on what the Raiders do moving forward.
