In a surprising post on Tuesday night, star cornerback Jaire Alexander suggested his days with the Green Bay Packers are over. Whenever he is traded, he is sure to garner a lot of interest from teams around the NFL this offseason.

The 2023-24 NFL season has yet to end, but that isn’t stopping organizations from looking ahead to major changes for next season. Currently, the head coach market is the biggest story around the league for some of the franchises no longer playing games this season. However, we aren’t far off from the start of trade season and free agency.

On Tuesday, the trade block received a major addition when Green Bay Packers corner Jaire Alexander took to his Instagram account to write, “Thank you God. Thank you Lambeau, for 6 years. Thank you to those who showed love throughout my journey.”

Obviously, the two-time Pro Bowler is under the assumption that he will be a cap casualty in the offseason or has informed the team he wants out and would like to take his talents elsewhere. If the Packers can pull off a blockbuster deal for one of the best cornerbacks in the NFC, here are four teams that could target him in the offseason.

Philadelphia Eagles

After having one of the premiere defenses in the league in 2022, the Philadelphia Eagles took a major step back this past season. They gave up the second-most passing yards in the NFL and were among the bottom ten in getting interceptions. If they hope to get back to the elite level of play they had two years ago, Jaire Alexander would go a long way in helping them succeed in that pursuit.

Who the team gets to be their next defensive coordinator could be key in how hard they pursue a trade for the Packers star in the weeks ahead.

New England Patriots

One of the areas the New England Patriots will likely address in the offseason is their secondary. While the unit is a solid group and key injuries hurt them in 2023-24, they need to add some big-impact players on that side of the ball. What helps the chance of a trade is the Pats have a boatload of cash to spend and are one of the few teams that can take on Alexander’s money without giving up key players from last year’s team and still improve the roster.

Las Vegas Raiders

While the Las Vegas Raiders have some really nice pass rushers up front, their secondary was a problem all season. With a defensive-minded head coach in Antonio Pierce leading them next season, don’t be surprised if he pushes his new general manager Tom Telesco to be bold and fix that problem on defense with one of the best cornerbacks in the game.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals’ defense was a mess at times last year and was a big hindrance to their chances to reach the postseason. However, they have some interesting young pieces in Trey Hendrickson, Cam Taylor-Britt, and Jordan Battle. Adding a proven Pro Bowl corner like Jaire Alexander to the roster for next season would be a coup and could lead to a huge turnaround for the unit in 2024.
