It’s safe to say the Green Bay Packers are a step behind in the NFC North after finishing third in their division. Yet, with how young their core is, the Packers could quickly take a leap forward in 2025, especially if general manager Brian Gutekunst finds a way to add impact players this offseason.
The Packers are in a good position to do just that, and it could happen on the trade market with a number of big names becoming available. Former Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett has already requested a trade, but he may not be the only award finalist who hits the trade block this offseason.

Green Bay Packers could attract Maxx Crosby on trade market

The Green Bay Packers could very well end up as a top trade destination for Myles Garrett. Yet, they could always inquire about another top pass rusher from a team desperate to cash in assets for a quarterback upgrade this offseason, such as Maxx Crosby from the Las Vegas Raiders.
The 27-year-old four-time Pro Bowler has always been loyal to the Raiders, but some around the league wonder if he’ll want a ticket out of town if Las Vegas can’t build a contender. Or, it’s possible the Raiders could use Crosby, their biggest trade chip, to land a quarterback they covet.
Recently, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport suggested Crosby’s desire to win and their need to land a quarterback could prompt the Raiders to consider trades for their former Defensive Player of the Year finalist.
“Crosby wants to win and be a big reason behind the success. While the hiring of Super Bowl winner Pete Carroll was a step toward stability, the Raiders still don’t have a franchise quarterback and have a ton of work to do to field a competitive roster. Trading Crosby for a bounty of picks would be one way to expedite that process, and Crosby might welcome the change, particularly if it’s to a playoff team where he knows people (e.g. Green Bay). Crosby has two years and about $44 million remaining on the contract extension he signed in 2022.”

Josh Jacobs went from Las Vegas to Green Bay and immediately helped the Packers return to the playoffs. Now, a year later, it’s possible Crosby could make a similar leap.
