The Baltimore Ravens are adding a four-time Pro Bowl running back to their already stacked Super Bowl-caliber roster.

Shortly after it was announced that former Minnesota Vikings star Dalvin Cook had passed through waivers, multiple media reports indicated that Cook had signed with the top seed in the AFC for their playoff push.

Cook, 28, was granted his release by the New York Jets earlier this week after falling to No. 3 on their depth chart. He had struggled in Jersey after signing this past offseason, putting up just 214 rushing yards at a clip of 3.2 yards per tote.

Even then, we’re talking about a stud back who earned four consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl with the Vikings from 2019-22. That span saw him act as one of the best all-around running backs in the NFL.

Baltimore’s rushing attack is strong, primarily due to what Lamar Jackson has been able to do on the ground (821 yards). With J.K. Dobbins sidelined since the opener due to an Achilles injury, Gus Edwards leads Baltimore’s running backs in rushing yards with 762.

It goes without saying that Cook will be able to complement what Jackson and Edwards have been able to do on the ground.

The Baltimore Ravens wrapped up the top seed in their conference last week. They are expected to rest their starters for the regular-season finale against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Expect John Harbaugh and Co. to run Cook out their with the other regular after Baltimore’s first-round by in the AFC Wild Card Playoffs.
