The Atlanta Falcons have been talked about a lot when it comes to the NFL trade market after yet another disappointing season.
It’s more than clear that general manager Terry Fontenot is going to be aggressive in attempting to keep his job after it was salvaged following the firing of head coach Arthur Smith.
With Atlanta having won seven games in each of the past three seasons, the pressure is squarely on the GM. That could now potentially include making a move for star Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.
NFL insider Tony Pauline reports that Atlanta is among the teams expected to have interest in the Super Bowl hero and stud cornerback.
The 27-year-old Sneed will be handed the franchise tag by Kansas City ahead of NFL free agency opening. The team has also given him permission to seek a trade. The reported asking price is expected to be a second-round pick and change.

It makes perfect sense that the Falcons would be interested in upgrading their cornerback situation. Opposing quarterbacks threw 24 touchdowns compared to eight interceptions against this unit in 2023.
The idea of teaming Sneed up with young star A.J. Terrell in the defensive secondary has to be appealing to Atlanta.
Last season saw Sneed yield a mere 51% completion, and 56.2 quarterback rating when targeted. He also starred in the postseason, helping Kansas City to a second consecutive Super Bowl title.
All of this comes with the Atlanta Falcons now being favored to land Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields in a blockbuster trade.
Atlanta boasts the eighth pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. It also has a second-round selection and two third-round selections to utilize in potential trades for veteran talent.
