Super Bowl LV during a pandemic. A total of 25,000 fans in attendance at Raymond James Stadium in Florida as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers “host” the Kansas City Chiefs for the big game.
We already knew that this year’s version of the NFL’s biggest game would be unlike anything we’ve seen before. The backdrop here being thousands of vaccinated first responders attending the game after an invite from the league.
So much has happened since these Chiefs took out the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl last February. The pandemic. A new administration in the White House. One month removed from an insurrection that cost the loves of multiple Americans on Capital Hill.
But for at least one night, it was all about the year’s biggest sporting event. From a tremendous Vince Lombardi video to open things up to a duet in that of Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan performing the national anthem, there was a whole heck of a lot that went down at Raymond James Stadium ahead of Super Bowl LV itself kicking off.
