NFL star Aldon Smith wanted in connection with alleged battery

The off-field issues for former All-Pro linebacker Aldon Smith are by now well known. After four seasons away from the NFL due to various off-field problems and league-mandated suspensions, Smith returned to the league as a member of the Dallas Cowboys in 2020.

The former San Francisco 49ers first-round pick kept his house in order off the field and performed well as a full-time starter in Big D. It led to Smith signing a contract with the Seattle Seahawks last week.

Unfortunately, the sack artist is now apparently in trouble with the law once again. Smith is wanted by authorities in the New Orleans suburb of St. Bernard Parish for alleged second-degree battery.

“The above subject is wanted for second degree battery that occurred on the evening of April 17, 2021 at the French Coffee House in front of Home Depot in Chalmette. The subjected does not have a local address but has relatives in the New Orleans area,” the statement read. “Subject was last observed in a white in color Nissan sedan with an unknown license plate. Anyone coming into contact with the above subject or is possibly aware of his current location, please contact Lt. Garofalo at CIB.”

The alleged incident came just two days after Aldon Smith inked a one-year contract with the Seahawks.

The seventh overall pick back in 2011, Smith jumped on to the scene as a dominant pass rusher for the San Francisco 49ers. He recorded a record 33.5 sacks over the course of his first two seasons before substance abuse issues caught up with the pass rusher.
