The New York Knicks have had to get by over the last few weeks with a few of their best players and a new update reveals when they could return to the court to avoid a free fall in the NBA standings.

While this has been a very good season for the Knicks they have been hit by a slew of major injuries over the last couple of months. Since early December they have been without starting center Mitchell Robinson, who is having one of his best seasons in the league.

However, they were able to battle through and persevere. Then late in January, they were hit with a double whammy when a separated shoulder sidelined three-time All-Star Julius Randle, and an elbow issue forced surgery for recent impact addition OG Anunoby.

Unsurprisingly they have had a far harder time trying to maintain their top-four spot in the Eastern Conference with three of their four best players missing weeks and more. While the team should be good enough to still reach the NBA Playoffs this year, they need at least two of the three back if they hope to contend for a spot in the Finals in the spring.

New York Knicks news: OG Anunoby could be back in three weeks

Well, on Tuesday FanDuel TV NBA insider Shams Charania dropped a major update on the latest with the trio’s recovery from their injuries.

“I’m told [Randle’s] rehab is going well, his goal is still to play this season … [Robinson] has got to keep hitting check marks, we know he’s been dealing with foot issues over the course of his career … OG Anunoby, the hope is over the next 2-3 weeks he’s going to be back on the floor.”

Either way, it looks like Randle and Anunoby won’t return until well into March. The NBA season comes to a close for the New York Knicks on April 14 so they three stars have about six weeks to get back on the floor and into a rhythm for the postseason.
