Despite their disinterest in being featured in the next season of “Hard Knocks,” the New York Jets and Aaron Rodgers will be the focus of the upcoming edition of the well-known HBO series.
The New York Jets 2023 training camp will be one of the organization’s most important summers in years. That’s what happens when you trade for a Hall-of-Fame quarterback like Aaron Rodgers and immediately alter the expectations of a team that fell short of reaching the playoffs last season.

Along with the Green Bay Packers legend, the franchise also added Allen Lazard, Randal Cobb, and a slew of rookies in the 2023 NFL Draft. With reaching the Super Bowl now the expectation, it is not surprising that the organization wants complete focus on the plan this summer and no distractions. However, despite some public and private efforts to avoid it, the Jets will have to confront one of the biggest distractions in NFL training camp.
New York Jets training camp reporting date: July 19
On Wednesday morning, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter broke the news that the New York Jets have officially been tabbed to be the focus of the next season of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”
The show has become a staple of the summer build to the NFL season and at one point was viewed as an honor to be a part of. However, over the last decade teams around the league have soured on having to take part in the series and several teams tried to avoid being a part of the new season over the last few months.
Unfortunately for Gang Green, being placed on the series was unavoidable. The NFL has a formula that chooses which teams will be assigned to take part in the series each year. And the New York Jets, along with the New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, and Washington Commanders fit the criteria to be on the new season.
Furthermore, due to the attention that Aaron Rodgers’ addition has brought to the team, they were the most logical choice to garner interest for a show that has seen a decline in following in recent years.
The Jets report to training camp on July 19, and cameras for “Hard Knocks” will be rolling from the outset.
