After making moves this offseason to improve their beleaguered offensive lines, it seems the New York Giants and New York Jets may have set their sights on the same talented wide receiver in Round 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Both the Giants and Jets entered the offseason with similar problems to address. After their starting quarterbacks suffered season-ending injuries in 2023, improving their offensive lines was a top priority for both organizations. And in March the two franchises made good moves to try and fix that problem.

The Jets made a major splash when they signed Dallas Cowboys star Tyron Smith in free agency and swung a trade for Baltimore Ravens veteran Morgan Moses. Both moves were praised and will boost the performance of the offensive line in front of aging NFL legend Aaron Rodgers in 2024.

The Giants made five signings to help address their blocking issues from last season, which included the addition of Green Bay Packers veteran Jon Runyan. With that offseason goal checked off their to-do list, both organizations are focused on addressing other needs in the NFL Draft, and it seems the Jets and Giants are interested in filling the same hole with the same player.

In a recent report, NFL Media league insider Cameron Wolfe claimed that both teams have had meetings with LSU star receiving Malik Nabers over the last week. Both franchises have been linked to adding an impact wide receiver during the offseason and the gifted pass catcher should be on the board when they are on the clock at six and 10, respectively.

There has been a lot of buzz around Nabers as we get closer to the NFL Draft with some pundits claiming he could go before can’t-miss prospect Marvin Harrison Jr. in the opening round of the event. Despite having another star receiver — Brian Thomas Jr. — on LSU last season Nabers was a beast in 2023.

Working with Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers reeled in 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns last season.
