The New York Giants drew the ire of coach Joe Judge when a teamwide brawl erupted near the end of the first padded practice on Tuesday.

It all started when running back Corey Clement ran for a big gain and was hit hard by safety Jabrill Peppers. One thing led to another, and by the time it was done, starting quarterback Daniel Jones wound up at the bottom of a pile loaded with teammates.

According to multiple outlets, Judge told his players to run sprints and do pushups as punishment, then could be heard in an expletive-laden rant.

Jones told reporters he wasn’t hurt and understood Judge’s point.

“There’s consequences for that kind of stuff and that’s the way it is in a game. If you lose your cool, there’s consequences that hurts the team. That was the message,” Jones stated. “[We] certainly got the message today.”
