A coach who might be the perfect replacement for New England Patriots legend Bill Belichick might be available in a trade as soon as next week.

The next few days could bring about a huge paradigm shift in the culture and future of the New England Patriots. While the team will be looking to avoid their second-lowest win total since 1992 when they face the New York Jets in their season finale on Sunday, most around the NFL will be wondering if it’s Bill Belichick’s last game as head coach.

Since iconic quarterback Tom Brady left the franchise following the 2019 season, the team has been in a slow decline and things fell off a cliff in 2023 as they enter Week 18 with just four wins. Due to their rough play over the last two seasons, there has been a great deal of speculation and rumors that the end is near for six-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick.

However, a former Patriots star who has turned into a pretty good head coach could also see his run with his current team come to an end after this week. There have been reports for weeks that the relationship between Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel and the team’s management has been frayed and a divorce could be near.

Mike Vrabel could be available for New England Patriots trade soon

On Saturday morning, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter revealed that Vrabel and the team’s top executives are set to meet very soon about the direction of the franchise going forward. And that “There are people around the league who think that either Vrabel would be open to being moved to another team or that the Titans would be open to moving him — maybe both.”

That is huge news for New England Patriots fans who would love to see their team replace Belichick with the Titans coach. In his six seasons as the leader of an NFL team, Vrabel has amassed a 53-45 record and has taken Tennessee to the playoffs on three occasions.

He played eight of his 12 seasons in the league with the New England Patriots and helped them win multiple titles, so he would perfectly fit the rumored strategy of a new head coach with ties to the franchise. It is unclear what it would take to land him in a trade or if a swap of the two coaches would interest Tennessee.
