Two-time All-Pro cornerback and former NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Marcus Peters knows how to play football. The dude has recorded a whopping 31 interceptions in just six seasons.
Peters, 28, also stays true to his Oakland roots in talking a good talking a good game, both on and off the field. The cousin of one Marshawn Lynch continued with that MO on a recent Catchin’ Fades with Aqib Talib podcast.
The two former teammates with the Los Angeles Rams talked about the Southern California team. To say that there’s a little bit of animosity would be an understatement.
“Oh yeah, f**k them. That’s how I was feeling, and I’m still feeling like that. I felt disrespected in the sense of, yeah y’all can trade me that’s a part of the business, but two minutes after that you bring in another guy who do the same sht I do— maybe a little bit different— If we play the compare game, I do a little bit more,” Peters said. “That sh*t was disrespectful to me. If we could have gone a little bit more, we had a chip here that year too. I don’t think we were the problem; I don’t think we were the issue that was holding the Rams back from taking the steps of where we needed to get to.”
Talk about not holding back.

Whether it’s his volatile personality or something completely different, the three-time Pro Bowl cornerback has not been able to stick in one place for too long. A first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2015, Peters led the NFL with eight interceptions as a rookie.
However, he lasted just three seasons in Kansas City before being traded to the Los Angeles Rams for a second-and-fourth-round pick. Peters then lasted a total of 22 games with the Rams ahead of a shocking multi-trade scenario that sent him to the Baltimore Ravens and brought Jalen Ramsey to Los Angeles from the Jacksonville Jaguars midway through the 2019 campaign.
That’s apparently the crux of the issue for Marcus Peters. Without naming names, he called out Ramsey and indicated that he’s a better all-around cornerback than his equally boisterous counterpart.
This is very much debatable. While Peters is seen as more of a ballhawk, he’s also a hit-and-miss cover guy on the field. Ramsey is seen as that traditional shutdown guy.
Either way, it’s pretty darn clear that Marcus Peters is not happy with the Rams and his short tenure in Southern California. He’ll let everyone know about it on an never-ending loop, too.
