Former LSU star wide receiver Malik Nabers took part in the program’s pro day on Wednesday. The top prospect made waves by running a 4.35 40-yard dash with a 42” vertical jump, 10’9 broad jump.
Those are some absolutely insane numbers with roughly a month to go before the 2024 NFL Draft.
This comes after the 6-foot wide receiver put up a brilliant 2023 season catching passes from Jayden Daniels for the Tigers.

Nabers is seen as a top-flight prospect who can take the top off the defense. A modern prospect in the mold of a Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson.

Some NFL personnel have Malik Nabers as top wide receiver in the draft
As Nabers was doing his thing in Baton Rouge on Wednesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that some personnel people around the NFL have him as the top prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft.
That’s an astonishing point at this point in the pre-draft process. For pretty much the past calendar year, it’s been a foregone conclusion Ohio State product Marvin Harrison Jr. would be the top receiver off the board. Heck, Harrison has been seen as a generational wide receiver prospect since his sophomore season back in 2022.
Nabers’ ascension up the draft board has been amazing in recent months. And in reality, those experts around the NFL Draft community are extremely high on him.
“Nabers is the next big thing coming out of LSU’s receiver room, with the pure explosiveness and talent to be mentioned in the same breath as former LSU stars starring in the league today. Despite a lack of polish and precision as a route-runner, Nabers’ gliding movements and speed alterations seem to disguise the top-end speed and separation potential that await opposing coverages.
He can play all three receiver spots and has the profile to become a productive, high-volume target over all three levels as a potential WR1.”

As of right now, it’s a foregone conclusion that the top-three picks in the draft are going to be quarterbacks. That leaves the Arizona Cardinals at four as a true wild card. Though, they are entertaining trade-down calls.
This is obviously one of the biggest stories outside of the quarterback position leading into next month’s draft. What Nabers did during his pro day only adds more intrigue here.
