For just the second time in NBA history, fans got to witness Victor Wembanyama going toe-to-toe with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Their Friday night matchup saw the Lakers defeat the San Antonio Spurs 123-118, but it’s safe to say, James came away impressed with the young rookie sensation.

Victor Wembanyama lost another battle to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, but like the rest of his rookie season, the Frenchman still put on a spectacular performance.

Wembanyama led the Spurs with 27 points and also tallied 10 rebounds, eight assists, five steals, and five blocks. He’d commit just two turnovers and three fouls in the process. Keep in mind that Wemby did all this in just over 30 minutes of play.

In doing so, Wembanyama became the youngest player in NBA history to record a 5×5 game. This is a rare feat that includes getting at least five stats in each major category (points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks). He also did it while playing fewer minutes than any other player who’s had a 5×5 game.

LeBron James won the game, but as mentioned, he is a big believer in Wembanyama, even going as far as to say he has no cap on his potential. His ceiling is limitless.
