Las Vegas Raiders star fully supports team pursuing Kirk Cousins in NFL free agency

The Las Vegas Raiders need to address their quarterback situation this offseason, and one of their top players seems to be hoping the organization seriously considers a pursuit of the top QB on the free agent market, Kirk Cousins.

The Raiders had several major questions to make heading into the offseason. They needed to decide on who would be their full-time head coach, find a new general manager, and upgrade a roster that had a better-than-expected 8-9 finish to a season that had a 3-5 start.

This week they settled one of those major issues when they made Las Vegas fans very happy by taking the interim tag off head coach Antonio Pierce’s title. Furthermore, all signs point to assistant GM Champ Kelly also getting the full-time gig this year. Now, the Raiders must start looking at ways to improve what is a solid roster.

While they have several needs heading into free agency in March and the NFL Draft in April, the biggest issue the front office must address is quarterback. Instead of going after a marquee name last year, they chose to sign veteran Jimmy Garopollo as a short-term upgrade. Unfortunately, he disappointed in a major way when he was on the field and was benched by Pierce once he took over in Week 8.

Could the Las Vegas Raiders pursue Kirk Cousins this offseason?

While rookie Aidan O’Connell was solid in relief, he is not the long-term answer. That is why during an appearance on the “Two G’s in a Pod” podcast recently, star wide receiver Davante Adams was asked about the possibility of adding four-time Pro Bowler Kirk Cousins. And it seems the three-time All-Pro would be all for it.

“I like a Kirk Cousins,” Adams said. “I think Kirk Cousins is a really good quarterback. As far as availability, I think Kirk is a good player.” Cousins is far and away the best QB available in free agency this offseason and is likely to command a big raise after having another Pro Bowl-level run before his season-ending injury in Week 8.
