The Las Vegas Raiders have been extremely active in adding wide receivers for new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo during NFL free agency.

Vegas has already signed veterans Jakobi Meyers, Cam Sims and Phillip Dorsett thus far this offseason.

General manager Dave Ziegler and Co. added yet another pass-catcher from the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers. According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, 29-year-old veteran DeAndre Carter is headed to Sin City.

This could very well be seen as an underrated signing for the Raiders. A former star at Sacramento State, Carter was a journeyman throughout his career prior to joining the Chargers last season.

In fact, he spent time with the Houston Texans, Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears and then-Washington Football Team from 2018-21. However, Carter did put up a career-best performance for Justin Herbert and the Chargers a season ago.

There’s also every reason to believe that Carter will be the Las Vegas Raiders’ top kick return guy. Back in 2021 with Washington, he averaged a whopping 25.1 yards per return. For his career, Carter is averaging 22.3 yards in that area of the game.

It will be interesting to see if Vegas opts to trade Hunter Renfrow before the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft. He was on the block earlier in the offseason. Signing four wide receivers in free agency adds another element to this belief. As of right now, this is where things stand.
