The Kansas City Chiefs were not met by a home crowd during Super Bowl Opening Night inside Allegiant Stadium on Monday.

Rather, the crowd on hand ahead of Super Bowl LVIII favored the NFC champion San Francisco 49ers big time. It was a scene to behold.

As things were playing out with both sides meeting with the media, Chiefs players decided to egg on 49ers fans in a big way.

It started with star Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones speaking over loud boos from San Francisco 49ers fans Monday night.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes then called out fans of the red and gold directly as he spoke to the media. “I appreciate it Niners Nation, we’re here,” Mahomes said.

That wasn’t even close to the extent of it. Taylor Swift’s lesser half also got into it with 49ers fans in Sin City.

“Ya’ll are firing me up. You making me want to play right now, baby. I love the boos more than I love the cheers, baby. Keep them coming niners gang. Keep them coming.”

The scene was absolutely electric. While it also did seem to be in good fun, this could be a clear indication that 49ers fans will represent the majority of those on hand for Super Bowl LVIII come Sunday afternoon inside Allegiant Stadium.

We also know that Kansas City is not going to back down here. The players were more than willing to engage with 49ers fans. That’ll be the case once kickoff takes place, too.

Get ready. It’s going to be a blast.
