Who’s going to be on season two of Netflix’s Quarterback series? We wish we had the answers, but we know Justin Fields won’t be involved in any way.
The third-year Chicago Bears quarterback said that while he was asked to participate, he had to turn the folks at Omaha Productions down. Fields indicated he did so, not wanting to be a distraction to the rest of his teammates.
“Just having cameras around the building, I think that might change the vibe of everyone. I just want to keep it natural and organic and really just focus on what’s going on in the building.”
Justin Fields on possible distractions involved with Netflix TV series
His reasoning makes a lot of sense. Unlike the veterans we saw partake in the viral series last year, Fields is still trying to figure things out in the NFL. Sure, he’s arguably one of the greatest rushing QBs in recent memory, but he knows there is further growth needed as a passer.
Even if the NFL community would like to see more behind-the-scenes from Fields, it doesn’t sound like a big priority for the 24-year-old former first-round pick. But he didn’t rule out an appearance on the show at another time.
One player who is said to be open to participating in the Netflix TV series is Los Angeles Rams starter, Matthew Stafford. Just one year removed from a Super Bowl victory, the 35-year-old could provide a compelling storyline.
