Julian Edelman will reportedly serve out the four-game suspension issued by the NFL for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug policy after his appeal was denied.

The substance that showed up in Edelman’s test was reportedly unknown, and he was arguing that the NFL mishandled his sample, which led to the bad test.

Edelman has never before been suspended, and he made it clear he had never before tested positive for any banned substance in a statement issued after the suspension was initially reported.

Last year, Edelman was injured during the preseason and missed the entire 2017 season. He will now have to sit out the first four games of the coming season before rejoining his teammates on game days.
