Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison has been charged with reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over in St. Paul for driving 140 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The Minnesota State Patrol announced the details of Addison’s traffic stop on Thursday morning. According to police records, Addison was pulled over at 3 a.m. on Eastbound I-94 in Saint Paul, Minnesota.

A Minnesota State Patrol officer traveling eastbound on Interstate 94 reportedly observed a Lamborghini Urus traveling at 140 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. He immediately made a traffic stop and later identified Addison as the driver of the Lamborghini. On-scene testing led police to believe alcohol was not a factor in reckless driving.

“We are aware of last night’s traffic incident involving Jordan Addison and are gathering additional information.”

Addison, the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, was the 2021 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner and a consensus All-American at Pittsburgh. After transferring to USC in 2022, he earned first-team All-Pac 12 honors and solidified himself as one of the best wide receivers in the nation.

After missing the majority of offseason practices with an undisclosed injury, Addison was expected to be cleared to participate in training camp immediately. Now, just days before Vikings’ training camp begins on July 29, Addison has found legal trouble not far from the team’s facility.

Addison’s citation for speeding and reckless driving comes just months after Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was investigated by police in Georgia for reckless driving on the night that teammate Devin Willock and Bulldogs’ recruiting staff member Chandler LeCroy were killed while street racing.

Carter was not charged with the investigation determining that his actions didn’t cause the other vehicle to crash. However, Davis is being sued over the fatal car wreck.
