We did not have a Jauan Jennings touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey on our Super Bowl LVIII bingo card. But that’s exactly what happened late in the first half as the San Francisco 49ers took a 10-0 lead over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brock Purdy threw a lateral to Jennings, who then threw the ball to the opposite end of the field to running back Christian McCaffrey. The NFL Offensive Player of the Year took it the rest of the way for a 21-yard touchdown to give the 49ers a two-score lead. It was simply a sensational play.

The play itself was extremely dangerous with Jennings’ pass seemingly being in the air for a long time. But once McCaffrey caught it, lanes opened up for the star running back to score the game’s first touchdown.

For McCaffrey, this was some redemption after he lost a fumble on the 49ers’ first drive of the game.
