Hendrick Motorsports enters the 2023 NASCAR season looking for redemption after coming up short of the NASCAR Cup Series driver and owner’s championships at Phoenix Raceway last November.

Chase Elliott was trying to claim the driver’s championship while Kyle Larson was tasked with the owner’s championship. Neither of them ended up claiming a trophy and now look to reset and be even better this year.

The first two races went well as Larson and Elliott almost won at the Daytona 500 and Auto Club Speedway, respectively. Then, William Byron won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. However, Hendrick Motorsports is not only focused on the Cup Series right now.

Hendrick Motorsports announces schedule for the NASCAR Xfinity Series season

It was said by Rick Hendrick, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports, last year that his team would likely be competing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series during the 2023 season. The organization competed in four events in 2022.

Hendrick said Hendrick Motorsports would not run in too many races; however, they would compete in several road courses and oval tracks over the course of the year. He stressed it would not be a full-time entry as seen thus far.

Now, the organization has announced its schedule for the 2023 Xfinity Series season. William Byron will drive the No. 17 car at Circuit of the Americas on March 25. It will be the organization’s first Xfinity race of the season.

Next, Kyle Larson will pilot the entry at Sonoma Raceway on June 10. It will be the Xfinity Series’ first-ever race at Sonoma and it is bound to be a really exciting, first-time event that Hendrick will look to win in a few months.

Alex Bowman will attempt the Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen on August 19. Last year, Byron drove the entry and had the dominant car. However, an incident ruined his shot at winning the event.

Finally, Larson will close out the season at the same place Hendrick Motorsports almost won at last year. He will drive the entry at Darlington Raceway on September 2 as the team looks for redemption.

The Xfinity Series season is bound to be a good one for Hendrick Motorsports as they look to reclaim their spot on the throne after not winning a single Xfinity race in 2022.
