Clayton Kershaw takes next step in return to the mound

Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will start the regular season on the injured list after missing all of spring training dealing with an ailment to his throwing shoulder.

Kershaw just recently noted that he expects to miss three weeks. But it looks like the former Cy Young winner might be on track to return earlier.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts noted that the 31-year-old Kershaw threw a simulated game on Monday and everything went well.

This was the next step in Kershaw’s eventual return to the bump. Though, we’re expecting Los Angeles to take it slow with its ace.

Kershaw has now spent time on the shelf each of the past four seasons. There’s no reason to rush him back. After all, the MLB season is marathon, not a sprint.
