Country music and southern rock superstar Chris Stapleton had the tall task of performing the National Anthem ahead of Super Bowl LVII between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.

A native of Kentucky, Stapleton is known in the country music industry for his unique singing style. Stapleton has won eight Grammy Awards and 10 Academy of Country Music Awards. Perhaps, he’s best known for co-writing Josh Turner’s “Your Man” and George Strait’s “Love’s Gonna Make it Happen.”

Well, Chris Stapleton took center stage inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale. He did not disappoint with his rendition of the National Anthem. It might not have been Whitney Houston, but the dude belted it big time. It even led to Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni getting emotional on the sideline.

From Charley Pride singing the anthem ahead of Super Bowl VIII back in 1974 to Houston’s brilliant rendition and the most-recent in that of Mickey Guyton last year, we’ve seen some absolutely tremendous performances.

Based on the reactions of Chris Stapleton’s rendition, he exceeded expectations. Now, on to the game.
