Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark is one of the best players in college basketball history. Days after she announced she was declaring for the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark set the NCAA all-time record for most points scored in a career.

Clark, age 22, has already compiled a legendary resume during her four-year career with the Hawkeyes. She is the reigning AP Player of the Year, John Wooden Coach of the Year and Naismith College Player of the Year. She also recently passed Washington Huskies legend Kelsey Plum (3,527 points) for the most points scored in women’s college basketball history.

Facing the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon, Clark had her shot at NCAA history. In front of her home crowd, the Des Moines native trailed Pete Maravich by 18 points among the NCAA all-time scoring leaders. If a matchup of top-10 opponents wasn’t enough, Clark’s shot at history brought a sold-out crowd to the Carver-Hawkeyes Arena.

Tickets for Sunday’s game were often selling at a minimum of $209, with the most expensive listing price at $861 per seat. It was an opportunity no one wanted to miss and the college basketball world and Iowa faithful got what it came to see.

  • Caitlin Clark career stats: 28.3 PPG, 7.1 RPG, 8.1 APG, 1.5 SPG, 46.6% FG, 38.3% 3PT

Clark made NCAA history in front of her family, friends, fans, her idol Maya Moore and countless other celebrities and basketball stars, tying the record and then breaking it on free throws to end the second quarter.
