Buffalo Bills oust offensive coordinator after mistake-ridden loss in Week 10

After a second straight loss and the worst performance of the season from the Buffalo Bills offense, the organization made the long-rumored decision to fire offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.

The Bills offense was a unit on the rise and one of the best in the NFL two seasons ago under Brian Daboll. However, after their success landed him the head coach job with the New York Giants, he was replaced by veteran quarterback and former Miami Hurricanes head coach Ken Dorsey.

However, the 42-year-old had trouble maintaining the standard created by Daboll during his first season and a half in Buffalo, and it has led to his dismissal after the team’s latest defeat in Week 10. On Tuesday morning, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter was the first to report that the organization officially fired Dorsey following the Bills’ 24-22 loss to the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football.”

Joe Brady to be the new Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator

Former Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator and current quarterbacks coach Joe Brady will be elevated to the offensive coordinator role for the rest of the season.

After a hot streak during the first month of the season when the offense scored 38, 37, and 48 points, the Buffalo Bills have lost four of their last six. The unit has been mistake-prone as QB Josh Allen has thrown interceptions in all of their last six games and the running game continues to be average.

There have been rumors for several weeks that the Bills could make an OC change but head coach Sean McDermott remained loyal to Dorsey. However, after a four-turnover performance in an ugly defeat to Denver, it seems the organization had seen enough.

Now, with Dorsey out, more pressure will build on McDermott with the franchise having high expectations after being AFC East champions the last three seasons.
