Buccaneers place Jason Pierre-Paul on non-football injury list

As was reported earlier in the week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed two-time Pro Bowl pass rusher Jason Pierre-Paul on the non-football injury list.

Pierre-Paul, 30, suffered a cervical fracture during a car accident back in May. There’s no determination regarding his future beyond training camp.

Tampa Bay’s press release did not get into further detail, but the hope is that JPP can return at some point this season. He opted against undergoing surgery on the neck, hoping that it can mend itself.

Pierre-Paul recorded a team-high 12.5 sacks in his first season with Tampa Bay after being acquired from the New York Giants in a trade.
