Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, is a four-star recruit out of Sierra Canyon High School who is ranked as the No. 28 player in the 2023 college basketball recruiting class on ESPN.
Listed at 6-foot-3, James projects to be a point guard at the college basketball level. There have already been several rumors surrounding the oldest son of the Los Angeles Lakers forward, including the Oregon Ducks being the favorites to land him.
However, a new report on January 17 has suggested that James will be deciding between three major college basketball programs, all of which should not be a surprise for the young guard.

Bronny James set to commit to Ohio State, USC, or Oregon after the high school season is over
James has already signed a NIL endorsement deal with Nike in October 2022 so part of his plans for college has been solidified. But, there is still one major decision that he needs to make for next year.
According to Los Angeles Times’ Luca Evans, James has narrowed his choices to Ohio State, USC, and Oregon with the expectation that a final decision will be made when Sierra Canyon’s season is over.
Out of those three times, Ohio State has the best recruiting class in 2023 which is ranked sixth place behind Kentucky, Duke, Michigan State, Connecticut, and Memphis. Oregon has the eighth-best while USC comes in last with the 10th-best class.
All three programs are near each other and the addition of James would instantly propel them higher. As stated above, Oregon has previously been labeled the favorite due to its ties to Nike.
Phil Knight, co-owner of Nike, attended Oregon and has turned it into a Nike school. Plus, LeBron James and the company previously signed a lifelong contract when he was a Cleveland Cavalier in 2016.
Ohio State would make sense as his family has many connections to the state. Both of the James basketball players were born in Ohio and have spent significant time there throughout their lives.
As for USC, James’ connection to the West Coast is relevant with Sierra Canyon High School being located in California. All of these programs are linked to Nike which is not a surprise due to James’ NIL endorsement deal.
Stay tuned for the latest updates on James’ decision between Ohio State, Oregon, and USC as the high school basketball season is nearing an end.
