The Dallas Cowboys are in the midst of an absolutely terrible start to the 2020 NFL season. They head into Week 8 with a 2-5 record and have lost their past two games by a combined 50 points. Rightfully, it has owner Jerry Jones frustrated.
However, Jones did not show himself in the best of lights during his weekly interview on the Shan & R.J. Show on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas Tuesday morning.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones blows up at media personality
The show’s co-host, Shan Shariff, was attempting to ask a question about a potential leadership void in the Cowboys’ locker room following the season-ending injury to Dak Prescott and with head coach Mike McCarthy under fire.
“Well, just shut up and let me answer,” Jones said while interrupting Shan Shariff. “No (he doesn’t see a leadership void).”
Jones did apologize a bit later for this interaction and seemed to go in more of a conciliatory direction. However, it’s rather clear that the longtime Cowboys’ owner is frustrated over his team’s early-season performance.

“One of the reasons Mike McCarthy is the coach is because he’s been through it,” Jones said. “He’s had tough times and he’s had disappointing times. Certainly we couldn’t have wanted to be at this stage with our team this year, but if I’m going to hire a coach that will be at this stage and work through this for the betterment for the rest of the year and for what’s in the future, I’ve got my man.”
It was just last week that unnamed Cowboys players took to the media as a way to bash McCarthy and his embattled coaching staff.

Those were some of the sentiments from said unnamed players following an ugly Week 6 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. It obviously has not gotten better after Dallas lost to the Washington Football Team by the score of 25-3 in Week 7.

As for what the plans are moving forward this season, Jones did note that there’s going to be personnel changes. Whether that includes a deal or two ahead of the Nov. 3 NFL trade deadline remains to be seen. However, quarterback might now be a need following Prescott’s injury and the concussion backup Andy Dalton suffered last Sunday.
Either way, drama now appears to be the name of the game in Big D. Jones’ actions on Tuesday underscore this in a big way.
